In my last article “Scentsy Selling Tips For Powerful Lead Generation” we discussed 5 tips and I promised (in the video) that I would elaborate on each tip, so here we are today.
The first tip was to use a system. Scentsy has a system. Call all your friends and family and ask them to come to a party or open house and try to get them to buy product, with a very hurried and half hearted mention of joining your team so you don’t bug anyone.
But its a system that benefits the Scentsy company more than it benefits you as a representative.
What do I mean? I mean that… well, let me explain network marketing the way that successful reps see it.
Think of it like a picture of a net… you know, a network. The way to look at network marketing is to think of it less from a personal products sales perspective and more from a team building perspective.
Unsuccessful people shy away from this because they think they are suppose to only Target friends and family and the unfortunate stranger that you are taught to pounce on at the grocery store. But that’s not the only way to find Scentsy leads so open your mind and leave company training behind… at least long enough to understand this Scentsy selling tip.
If you see network marketing for what it is; a network of people all using a minimum amount of product personally, sharing an opportunity with mlm friendly people and building the network bigger and bigger over time, and the entire network sharing in the profits… that’s when you’ll come up with a system that works for you.
You may come up with your own, but It’s more likely that you’ll have a chance (one you’re open to the idea) to see what other people with your same talents are doing and study them. It’s generally easier to share than to come up with something from scratch.
This Scentsy selling tip is not for the faint of heart. It’s for the empire builders who understand that leverage is healthy and that mlm is about leverage. Scentsy is a great company, but if personal product sales are the training push that they focus on most then you can bet that they don’t really understand how to teach you about their own marketing model.
Time to take up your flag as a leader and do some positive brainstorming about how you can both use a new system to build a giant, thriving team… and perfect it with practice so that you can teach that system to your team. I mentioned other ways to generate targeted leads besides warm market. I meant that. Every successful mlm rep eventually has to do something to generate leads.
Some put out ads… not about the company, but about what they are seeking. Some used internet marketing. But all who stay in the game long term do something to keep the flow of “new blood” coming to their business. You can’t just go into management mode if you expect to build that Scentsy empire.*wink*
